With a Smile and a Song
I’m so impressed with her ability to see detail and possibility in everyday food items. An omelette becomes a fanciful skirt, wasabi peas become tree branches — it’s so interesting.
When Harry’s Addie went to Vietnam she brought back this book which couples the food art with lovely quotes about childhood. It seems to be out of print – but all Yen’s food art is on her website.
Perhaps making food art is something you’d like to try? With a child maybe? Personally, I think I’ll leave it to Yen and just admire her work.
